Industrial Equipment
An equipment group's Canadian unit moved from QuickBooks Desktop to the group's Business Central in under 10 weeks.
Business Central
The problem
The Canadian business unit of a global equipment group was running on QuickBooks Desktop while the rest of the group ran on Business Central. It needed to join the group's system, with Canadian GST, HST and PST handled correctly, serial-tracked inventory, and its sales history carried over.
What we did
Prismware implemented Business Central for the Canadian unit on the group's existing global setup: finance with Canadian tax, sales from quote to invoice, purchasing, serial-tracked inventory and equipment returns. Customers, vendors, items, opening balances and historical sales moved over from QuickBooks Desktop, and every process passed user acceptance testing before cutover.
The result
The Canadian unit went live on April 1, the date set at kickoff, and runs on the same platform as the rest of the group. Its team works in Business Central every day, with Prismware supporting it after go-live.
